All measurements are generally consistent with ISO document 7779. Sound power measurements are taken under essentially free-field conditions over a reflecting plane.

Observe standard static-discharge precautions. A grounded wrist-strap is preferred. Handle the drive only by the sides of the head/disc assembly.
