37. Remove the RIGHT Arm and Rafter Assembly from
the RED PLASTIC SLEEVE and repeat the process for
the right side.

38 . Make sure that 16"-20" of Fabric hangs free from
the Roller Bar. Slide the Awning Rail onto the Fabric
from either end, with the Flat Side of the Rail toward
the House. See Figure 16.

39. Lift the Handle and press the Thumb Latch on the
Lift Handle and extend the Inner Arms down from the
Outer Arms. See Figure 17. Be sure they are locked in
place so that the total length between the Roller Bar
and Ground Brackets are approximately the same as
the height of the chalk line or Mounting Height. See
Figure 15.

CAUTION: Be sure that the Latch on the Lift Handle
is fully engaged in a Square Hole on the Inner Arm
after you raise or lower the Arms.
The Lift Handle will retract back towards the Outer
Arm without assistance when the Latch is fully
engaged in a Square Hole.

Do not force the Handle closed as this will cause
damage to the Lift Handle Assembly. Simply raise or
lower the Arm slightly so the Latch engages a hole.
Figure 18a shows a correctly engaged Lift Handle.
Figure 18b shows an incorrectly engaged Lift Handle.

40 . Using a Helper, place the bottoms of the Arms
about (2') two feet from the base of the wall and
allow the Roller to lean against the house.

41. Fasten the Awning Rail to the wall, or to the
1 x 4" Board, using the previously drilled holes, with
the Long Awning Rail Screws (without wood board
installation) or Short Awning Rail Screws (with wood
board installation).
42 . Align the hole in the Upper Bracket with the single
Large Hole in the end of the Awning Rail.
