5 Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the filter

The filter can get dirty during prolonged
use. Therefore, it is important to check it reg-
ularly and clean it if necessary.
If you see that the filter is damaged, re-
place it immediately (Chapter 6.2, "Acces-
sories and spare parts").
To check and clean the filter, proceed as
follows:
1. Switch off the appliance.
2. Empty the dust container, Chapter 4.3,
"Emptying the dust container".
3. Separate the dust container from the mo-
tor unit by pressing the release button

4. Remove the permanent textile filter from
the dust container (Fig. 9).
5. Tap the dust out of the filter and remove
coarse dirt by hand.
6. If this is insufficient, thoroughly rinse the
permanent textile filter under running wa-
ter (Fig. 10).

7. Let the filter dry for approx 24 hours at
room temperature after cleaning it with
water. Only put it back in place (Chapter
5.2, "Fitting the filter") when it is complete-
ly dry.
8. Also check the empty dust container. If
necessary, wipe it clean with a slightly
damp cloth.
ATTENTION:
Do not use hard brushes, cleaning or scour-
ing agents or alcohol, as these might dam-
age the appliance's housing.
