STEP Setting up the Network
To check and set the computer's IP
address
When the computer is connected to the DVD recorder via a router
with its DHCP enabled, the following operations are not necessary.
On the computer

Click [start]
click [Network Connections].

Right-click the [Local Area
Connection]
[Properties].

A message may appear below the icon such as [Bridge
Connection] or [Network Bridge].

Select [Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)] and
click [Properties].

Check the IP address setting.
≥If "Obtain an IP address automatically" is selected
Select "Use the following IP address:" and enter the IP
address and so on as shown in the example below.
Example:
IP address:
Subnet mask:
Default gateway:
Preferred DNS server:
Please make a note of the "IP address", "Subnet mask",
"Default gateway" and "Preferred DNS server" settings (These
will be needed during DVD recorder setting).

Click [OK].
You will exit the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties"
window.

Click [OK].
You will exit the "Local Area Connection Properties" window.
