Removing Dried Ink from the Nozzle of the Ink Cartridge
If the Ink Cartridge is exposed to air an extended period of time, a layer of dried ink will form as crust on the
nozzle of the Ink Cartridge. If this occurs, follow the steps below to remove the dried ink from the nozzle of
the Ink Cartridge.
Dried Ink
To prevent spillage, always clean the Drain Pan of excess ink before moving the apparatus.

Cleaning the Drain Pan

Drain Pan
1. It is recommended to make a copy on the apparatus at least once a week to prevent ink from
drying on the nozzle of the Ink Cartridge.
1. Hold the Ink Cartridge over a waste can so that the nozzle
of the Ink Cartridge is pointed toward the waste can.
2. Gently scrape the dried ink with the edge of a business
card or other rigid paper stock so that the dried ink falls into
the waste can.
DO NOT use a swab to remove dried ink from the Ink
Cartridge.
1. Open the Panel Cover.
2. Open the Cartridge Cover.
3. Remove the Ink Cartridge.
4. Inspect the Drain Pan for excess ink. If necessary, clean up
the excess ink with a swab or a paper towel.
