Changing the File Name

The file name has four alphanumeric
characters followed by a four-digit
image number (p.223) and extension.
The first four alphanumeric characters
are set upon factory shipment and unique to the camera. However, you
can change them.
With "User setting1", you can change and register the four characters
as desired. With "User setting2", if you register three characters, the
fourth character from the left will be appended automatically to indicate
the image size (image-recording quality).
Registering or Changing the File Name

Select [File name].

Under the [51] tab, select [File
name], then press <0>.
Select [Change User setting*].

Enter any alphanumeric

characters.
For User setting1, enter four
characters. For User setting2, enter
three characters.
Press the <L> button to delete any
unnecessary characters.
