    Operating Instructions & Tips Shaping • Trim a hedge so that it is wider at the bottom than the top. This improves penetration of light and promotes healthy growth. • Taper the hedge approximately 4 inches (100 mm) for every 40 inches (1 metre) in height. A bush can be round, or a column shape.
