EXPOSURE COMPENSATION

The camera exposure can be adjusted to make the final picture lighter or darker by as
much as ±1.5Ev in 0.3 increments. Exposure compensation is set in the recording menu
(p. 35). When set to any value other than 0.0, the exposure-compensation value remains
in the top left corner of the monitor as a warning.
Use the up/down keys of the controller to highlight
the exposure option.
Press the right controller key to continue.
Use the left/right controller keys to adjust the
exposure-compensation value. The change in
exposure is visible in the monitor image.
Press the menu button to complete the operation.
Shooting tips
Exposure compensation is used when the
camera's exposure meter is deceived by high-
key or low-key subjects. In the example, the
dark water caused the camera to overexpose
the image making it bright and washed-out.
By compensating the exposure, detail is
brought out in the leaves, and the stones and
water appear richer.
