Relinking the Oracle Code

The Oracle code must be relinked under the following conditions:

Step 1 Shutdown the Given Database(s)

First verify that you are pointed to the right database instance
prompt:
$ SHOW LOGICAL ORA_SID
ORA_SID" = "V9" (LNM$JOB_TABLE)
Invoke SQLPLUS and connect SYS
processes are active, and if you are pointed to the right instance, then shut down the
given database.
After the database is shut down, all Oracle background processes will no longer
exist

Step 2 Remove Images

Step 3 Invoke the Oracle Installation Utility

Change to operating system, for example upgrade
Change to Oracle Net configuration
Change to RDBMS configuration
