Back up the old code and database files (data, redo log, and control).
Mount the distribution media.
Run Oracle Universal Installer.
Select custom install.
Execute ora_root:[bin]runInstaller.
Point to existing ORACLE_HOME.
Select custom install.
Select products to install.
Configure products if OUI asks questions.
Click Install button.
Exit OUI.
Start an instance.
Build or upgrade database tables menu.
