Problem
The engine loses power.
The sprayer will not operate or is
sluggish in either direction
because the engine bogs down or
stalls.
The sprayer will not operate in
either direction.
There is an abnormal vibration or
noise.
Possible Causes
1. The air cleaner element is dirty.
2. The crankcase oil level is
incorrect.
3. There is dirt, water, or stale fuel
in the fuel system.
4. The engine is overheated.
5. The vent hole in the fuel tank
vent fitting is plugged.
6. There is low compression.
7. The injection timing is incorrect.
1. The parking brake is set.
1. The parking brake was not
released or the parking brake is
not releasing.
2. The control linkage needs
adjustment or replacement.
3. The transmission is broken.
4. The drive shaft or wheel hub
key is damaged.
1. The engine mounting bolts are
loose.

Corrective Action
1. Clean or replace the air cleaner
element.
2. Fill or drain the oil to the full
mark.
3. Drain and flush the fuel system,
then add fresh fuel.
4. See "The engine overheats"
section.
5. Replace the fuel cap.

7. Adjust the injection timing.
