Problem
The engine starts but does not g

The engine will not idle. g
The engine overheats.
Possible Causes
1. The fuel tank vent is restricted.
2. There is dirt or water in the fuel
system.
3. The fuel filter is clogged.
4. The air cleaner is clogged.
5. There is a fuel leak due to a
loose injection pipe retaining
nut.
6. The injection pump is
malfunctioning.
7. The nozzle injection pressure is
incorrect.
8. The injection nozzle is stuck or
is clogged.
9. There are loose wires or poor
connections.
1. The fuel tank vent is restricted.
2. There is dirt, water, or stale fuel
in the fuel system.
3. The idle speed adjusting screw
is incorrectly set.
4. The air cleaner element is dirty.
5. The fuel pump is broken.
6. There is low compression.
7. The injection pump is
malfunctioning.
8. The nozzle injection pressure is
incorrect.
9. The injection nozzle is stuck or
is clogged.
1. The crankcase oil level is
incorrect.
2. The load is excessive.
3. The radiator is dirty.
4. The coolant is low.

Corrective Action
1. Replace the fuel cap.
2. Drain and flush the fuel system,
than add fresh fuel.
3. Replace the fuel filter.
4. Replace the air cleaner.
5. Tighten the injection pipe
retaining nut.
6. Replace the injection pump.
7. Adjust the nozzle injection
pressure.
8. Repair or replace the injection
nozzle.
9. Check and tighten the wire
connections.
1. Replace the fuel cap.
2. Drain and flush the fuel system,
then add fresh fuel.
3. Contact an Authorized Service
Dealer.
4. Clean or replace the air cleaner
element.
5. Contact an Authorized Service
Dealer.
6. Contact an Authorized Service
Dealer.
7. Replace the injection pump.
8. Adjust the nozzle injection
pressure.
9. Repair or replace the injection

1. Fill or drain to the full mark.
