When Not Able to Focus on a
Subject While Shooting

Determine the Position of the Subject After Focusing

If your main subject is not centered inside the AF target mark, use the
focus lock feature explained below:
Viewfinder
AF target mark
CAUTION
• If the flash is pressed down while taking a picture, it does not fire and could
cause the image to be dark.

Full-press

Open the lens barrier.
• The camera turns on in
shooting mode.
Look through the viewfinder
and position the AF target
mark on the subject you wish
to focus on.
Half-press the shutter button
so the green lamp next to the
viewfinder lights up.
• The subject is now in focus
and exposure is set.
Keep the shutter button half-
pressed while you reposition
your subject(s) within the
picture frame. Then full-press
the shutter button.
