In our initial production run we adopted the pinout wiring that is utilized by Control4. We have discovered
that this is the opposite wiring that is more commonly used. Production units shipped after February 1,
2012 will utilize a more widely used standard IR communication.
For all units shipped prior to January 15, 2012: the IR channels can be thought of as an extension of
an IR flasher. If you connect the input of the SoloCAT HD™ to an output of an IR control, and then
connect the output to a flasher LED, it will flash the LED. Though the LED's cable may have to but cut
and inverted (the two wires going to the LED may need to be crossed and reconnected) before the LED
will flash.
LED Indicators
On the front of the SoloCAT HD™ chassis there is a vertical block of four (4) green LED's that is marked
"Status" on the chassis just above the LED's. From top to bottom this is an explanation of their activity:
1.
#1 LED indicates normal operations and will flash 1 a second.
2.
#2 LED down indicates a valid link between the transmitter and receiver.
3.
#3 LED indicates a valid HDCP link, and is steady in normal use and flashing while it's trying to
connect, or there's an error in connecting.
4.
#4 LED on the bottom one is currently reserved.
EIA/TIA-568-B termination is highly recommended for best results
