EXTERNAL
LINEAR AMPLIFIER
The IC-751A
is
designed to operate
into
a
load
with
50
ohms
impedance.
Therefore,
any
amplifier
used
must
have
a
50
ohm
input
impedance
for best efficiency.
USING
THE
IC-2KL
LINEAR AMPLIFIER
The
optional
500
watt,
solid-state
IC-2KL
linear
amplifier
may
be
easily
connected
to the
IC-751A
with the
cables supplied
with
the
amplifier
in
the
same
way
as
other
ICOM
transceivers.
Refer to the
IC-2KL
Instruction
Manual
for
details.
It
is
recommended
that the
ICOM
IC-AT500 Automatic Antenna
Tuner
be used
when
operating
with the
IC-2KL
and
500
watts
output
(See
SECTION
15).
The
amplifier
connections
are
shown
below.
NOTE;
All
cables required for
the interconnec-
tion of
the
IC-751A and
the
IC-2KLare
supplied with the
amplifier.
USING NON-ICOM
EXTERNAL
The
RELAY
JACK
on
the
rear
panel of the
IC-751A
supplies
an
AMPLIFIERS
output from
a built-in
keying
relay for
an
external amplifier.
The
ALC
jack
is
an
input
for
the
automatic
level
control
signal
from
an
external amplifier.
The
specification for
the keying
relay
is
50
volts
DC
maximum. Do
not exceed
this limit.
The
RELAY
JACK
is
grounded
while the
transceiver
is
in
the
trans-
mit
mode
and
it
opens
when
the
transceiver returns
to the
receive
mode.
The
output
condition of
this
jack
does not
control
either
the transmit or
receive
function of the
transceiver.
