Instructions for the book scanner Minolta PS 7000
1 Starting scanner, computer & software
First, turn on the scanner (red power plug at the table and the switch on the left hand side
of the scanner), then turn on the PC!
The computer is within the Eawag network. Access to the Empa network is not possible.
For remarks on the file transfer refer to p.5.
Starting Windows 7:
Double click the short cut SRZ ProScan on the desktop.
Enter Username
and password:
Select "Projektmode" if the SRZ ProScan software asks
you to choose a project ("Projekt wählen"),
then confirm the default selection for the target directory.
Push the orange button "Stapel beginnen" on the scanner's
keyboard. Note that this step is omitted if the software has just been

  • Page 3: Finishing The Scan

    Turn the page of the book and scan the subsequent pages. On the left side of the computer screen the scanned pages are listed and can be selected, deleted or moved by clicking on them (see more in the last section, p.5). If the colour of the long buttons on the scanner board is red rather than green, the scanner is in sleep mode and the button has to be pressed twice.
  • Page 4 4 Where is the PDF-file? Your scanned PDF file is stored locally on C in the directory “c:\ProScan Ablage“. Shortcut on the desktop: here‘s the scanned document The folder „TESTSCAN-01“ contains the TIFF files of every single scanned page, and, at the end, the whole PDF file.
  • Page 5 5 Access the PDF-file from your office computer In order to access the PDF file from your own computer you have the following options: Copy the PDF to your personal scratch disk Eawag (Q:\Diverses\Scratch-Disk). Copy the PDF to \\lib4ri\scans$. Copy the PDF to \\lib4ri\scans$. You can access this folder Empa via \\lib4ri.eawag.wroot.emp-eaw.ch\scans$.
