SAFETY INFORMATION
• Installation
Ensure that all components used for securing the projector are in good condition.
Make certain that the anchorage is stable before positioning the projector.
The safety wire must secured to the fixture and to the supporting structure in such a
way that if the bracket should fail, the projector will fall as short a distance as
possible. Following any such failure, the safety wire must be replaced with a genuine
Clay Paky spare.
• Minimum distance from target objects
The projector must be positioned in such a
way that objects struck by the beam are
located at least 1,2 metres (3'11") from the
lens.
• Minimum distance from flammable materials
The projector must be positioned in such a way that inflammable materials are
located at a distance of at least 0,15 metres (6") from any part of the fixture.
It is permissible to mount the fitting on normally flammable surfaces.
• Maximum ambient temperature
For better and more reliable operation of the projector, the ambient temperature must
not exceed 35 °C (95°F).
• Protection category IP20
The appliance is protected against penetration of solid bodies more than 12 mm
(0.47") in diameter (first digit 2), but can be damaged by spray, jet, drip or rain water
(second digit 0).
• Electric shock protection
The equipment is rated Class I as regards insulation against electric shock.
It is therefore a statutory requirement that the electrical connection be made to a
power supply with an efficient earth system.
It is, moreover, recommended to protect the supply lines of the projectors from
indirect contact and/or shorting to earth by using appropriately sized residual current
devices.
• Connection to the electrical power supply
The operations involved in connecting the equipment to the power supply must be
entrusted to a suitably qualified electrician.
Make certain that the voltage and frequency of the mains power supply are as
specified for the equipment and indicated on the data plate.
The data plate also indicates the electrical input. Take note of this value when
assessing the maximum number of appliances that can be connected to the line, to
the end of avoiding overloads.

• Maintenance
Isolate the projector from the electrical power supply before commencing
maintenance work of any description.
After switching off, do not remove any part of the projector for at least 10 minutes.
Once this time has elapsed, the risk of a lamp exploding is practically zero. If the
lamp needs changing, wait a further 15 minutes to avoid the risk of burns.
In the event of a lamp exploding, the fixture is designed to prevent fragments of glass
from being scattered. Lenses supplied with the projector must be fitted at all times,
and if visibly damaged must be replaced promptly with genuine spares.
• Temperature of external surface
The maximum temperature on the outer surface of the projector under normal
operating conditions is 120°C (248°F).
• Lamp
The projector uses a high pressure discharge lamp with external igniter.
- When fitting a new lamp, read the manufacturer's instructions carefully.
- The lamp must always be changed without delay if damaged or deformed by heat.
The products referred to in this manual conform to the
European Community Directives to which they are subject:
• Low Voltage 73/23
