Getting Started

Important!
1. Make sure amplifier's output connectors are plugged into speakers only using a speaker cable.
2. Before making connections to amplifier or reconfiguring the routing of amplifier, turn down amplifier's
control levels and switch off amplifier.
3. Before shutting down the audio system, turn off the amplifier first. While powering up your audio system,
turn on the amplifier last.
4. Save the shipping box, warranty card and packing materials.
Settings:
1. Make sure the power switch of amplifier is turned off.
2. Turn down all the level controls.
3. Determine which amplifier mode is used for the application:
A.
Stereo Mode: Input A signal is routed to output channel A,
B.
Bridge Mode: Combines two channels and doubles the output power.
Input A is used for bridged output channels A and B; Input C is used for bridged output channels C
and D. When in Bridge Mode, Input B and Input D are not connected. 8-ohm is the minimum
speaker impedance connecting to amplifier in Bridge Mode.
4. Set the amplifier mode switch to the application.
5. Refer to the wiring diagram for the speaker connection. There are specific speaker Speakon connectors
for Bridge Mode (ref. Chapter Connections "Analog output connector").
6. Connect the amplifier output to the speaker using correct speaker cable.
Connections:
1. Be sure to switch off the power of the related equipment before making any connections.
2. Balancing cables are used to connect the mixer console (or the other signal sources) "MAIN OUTPUTS"
to the amplifier's "INPUTS" (ref. Chapter Connections "Analog intput connector").
3. Connect speaker cables to the OUTPUTS---Speakon connectors (ref. Chapter Connections "Analog
output connector").
4. Connect Cat-5 cable from amp to PC/Ethernet Switch (ref. Chapter Connections "RJ45 Connectors").
5. Amplifier systems general connection settings (ref. Chapter Connections A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,J,K,L,M).
6. Ethernet connections (ref. Chapter Network Operations).
7. Plug all the sound system's power cord into suitable AC outlets, properly grounded and with adequate
current supply.
8. Make sure the signal source is powered up to deliver the right signal amplitude to the amplifier.
9. Turn on the power switch of the amplifier. Verify that the POWER LED lights.
10. Then music should be heard and signal LEDs will light in blue color with the LED intensity following the
music level.
If the signal LEDs are flashing in red color, turn down either the level controls on the amplifier or the sourcing
signal's output level controls, until the signal LEDs are no longer flashing and returned back to blue color .
Sapphire III
Input B signal is routed to output channel B.
