Wi-Fi

Connecting in access point (AP) mode

You can connect your wireless device (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.) to your scanner. Your scanner
itself can be the access point without going through any access point, and your wireless device can access
the scanned images stored on the SD card directly.
NOTE
• If you have not set a Wi-Fi
first. For more information, see Setting a Wi-Fi

• Without a Wi-Fi
network password, data on your SD card can be viewed and stolen by a third party.
• If you forget your password, press the scanner's RESET button to reset the password. For more information,
see Reset network settings on page 53.
• Up to three wireless devices can connect to your scanner at a time.

Slide the Wi-Fi
switch to ON.
Wait for about 40 seconds until the Wi-Fi

Activate the Wi-Fi
scanner.
For more information, see the instructions provided with your wireless device.

Select the scanner's SSID, Brother DS-820W-xxxx (where xxxx = your scanner's Media Access Control
(MAC) address).
