Security settings (Menu 4-5)

Your phone is equipped with a versatile security system to prevent unauthorised use of the phone or
the SIM card. See also 'Access codes' on page 122.

PIN code request (Menu 4-5-1)

You can protect your SIM card by setting the phone to ask for your PIN code every time the phone is
switched on. To do this, you need to set the menu
to turn this request function on. The PIN code is usually supplied with the SIM card. If not, contact your
service provider. You can change your PIN code in the Change of access codes menu (4-5-6).
Note: If you enter an incorrect PIN code three times in succession, the SIM card is blocked and you
need to enter the PUK code to unblock the SIM card. See 'Access codes' on page 122.
Note: Some SIM cards do not allow the PIN code request to be turned off.
