AIRMATIC air suspension, code (489)
Like its predecessor, model series 212 can be fitted
with air suspension as special equipment. A new
feature is the design of the front axle air suspension
with a wheel control McPherson strut due to the three-
link axle design. Attention was paid to ensuring that
the air spring fully compensates for transverse force in
order to provide maximum ride comfort. The air
springs and dampers on the rear axle are of a conven-
tional design.
