7G-Tronic transmission

The models E 350 CDI, E 350 CGI and E 500 are fitted
with the familiar "7G-Tronic" 7-speed automatic trans-
mission as standard equipment.
Automatic transmission 722.9 is an electronically
controlled 7-speed automatic transmission with a
lockup clutch in the torque converter. The transmis-
sion has seven forward gears and two shifted reverse
gears.
The DIRECT SELECT lever located near the steering
wheel replaces the electronic selector lever module in
the center console.
