INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Do not cut the power cable!
Always hold the saw with both hands when in use.
Do not use whilst standing on a ladder or branch
etc.
Never stand directly under the branch you are
cutting, as it can fall without warning. Never
operate the saw at an angle over 60° in relation to
the ground. Beware of falling branches when using
the saw.
Watch your footing when using the saw. Sawn
branches on the ground represent a safety risk if
you trip over them while sawing.
Ensure that you do not accidentally cut power or
telephone cables, and always make sure there are
no other people or animals in the vicinity when
starting or using the saw.
Always use the grip spikes when cutting logs etc.
Always work uphill on slopes.
Caution: the saw can vibrate very heavily, or kick
back when cutting with the end of the blade.
Always use protective gloves when handling the
blade. Never place your hand or fingers near the
chain while the saw is running.
Never allow the blade to be in contact with the
item to be cut - or other objects - when starting
the saw.
Never carry the saw around while the chain is
running. Switch off between cuts when sawing
repeatedly.
Always saw using the underside of the blade
whenever possible.
Check that there are no nails, screws or other
objects that could damage the blade in the item to
be cut, and that the surface under the item will
not hinder cutting.
Do not lift the saw from the item being cut if the
blade is still running. Caution: If the saw stops
with the blade in the item, it can pull the operator
forward.

Assembly and preparation

Fitting blade and chain
Check that the protective shield (3) is vertical.
Remove the lock nut (c) from the chain guard (e).
Remove guard. Check that the chain tensioner (f)
fits into its hole on the blade (1). Turn the screw
(12) if required until it does so.
Hold the blade vertically and fit the chain (2) onto
the blade. Check that the chain is correctly fitted
and will rotate correctly (illustrated on (d) chain
guard).
Fit blade on guide bolt (b) and chain tensioner
bolt. Fit chain (a) around the sprocket (g), and
check it is fitted properly.
Replace the chain guard and lock nut.
Tightening the chain
Adjust chain tension using the screw and Allen key
supplied. Turn the screw clockwise to tighten the
chain, and anticlockwise to slacken. There should
be 5 mm of play in the chain when lifted from the
blade.
Filling chain oil
Remove the oil filler cap (11) and fill tank with
