Congratulations Your new Zeagle/Tiger SBA (Survival Breathing Apparatus) has been designed and manufactured to the highest possible standards of performance and reliability. With the reasonable care outlined in this manual it will provide you with many years of diving enjoyment.
  • Page 5 CAUTION SBA products are subject to conditions of extreme wear and corro- sion. Inspection and maintenance are required to ensure continued performance. Tiger Performance recommends that you have your regulator inspected and serviced once a year on the anniversary date of its purchase.
  • Page 6: Nitrox Use

CAUTION 1. The high-pressure outlets (HP Ports) are distinctly larger than the low-pressure outlets. Only devices with fittings, hoses and compo- nents designed for the full tank pressure that the regulator will be subjected to, such as Pressure Gauges, are to be installed in these ports.

DANGER Using nitrox (i.e., gas mixtures containing oxygen in excess of 21%) requires special training and procedures. Improper use of nitrox can lead to personal injury, convulsions, drowning, and death. DANGER Use of gas mixtures containing oxygen in excess of 40% with this regu- lator, can lead to fires and explosions, causing severe personal injury and death.

When breathing air is needed or a reading of tank pressure using the HP gauge is required, the valve hand wheel is turned in a counter-clockwise direction until it’s fully open.
  • Page 9 Filling the Tiger Performance SBA WARNING To ensure a proper fill and to avoid damage to internal parts, the Valve Handwheel (see Fig. 2) MUST be opened BEFORE the supply valve on the Scuba Tank or Filling Whip is turned on. CAUTION To prevent internal cylinder corrosion, if any dirt or moisture is seen on the Fill Probe face (see Fig.
  • Page 10 Filling the Tiger Performance SBA using the 330-6052 Transfiller WARNING The Tiger SBA uses a 3000 psi (207 Bar) working pressure cylinder. If the source cylinder being used to transfer air has a working pressure above 3000 psi, the person doing the transfilling must monitor the Compact HP Port Pressure Gauge to make sure that the pressure fed into the SBA does not exceed 3000 psi at any time.
  • Page 11 Fig. 5 Attach the other end of the Transfiller to the Yoke Valve in a full Scuba Cylinder (Fig. 5). Fig. 6 Since the Valve Hand wheel on the SBA is fully open (Fig. 6) the HP pressure gauge on the SBA will now be showing the small cylinder’s pressure.

The 330-FA52-AA Filling Whip Adapter (Fig 8), is attached to the SBA in the same manner described earlier for the Transfiller.

Cylinder Information: The Tiger Performance SBA comes standard with a 9.25” (23.5 cm) long cylinder that when filled to its 3000 psi (207 BAR) rated pressure holds a volume of air which if allowed to exit the cylinder will expand to a volume of 2.0 cubic feet (56.6 Liters).

320-RG6L SECOND STAGE FEATURES The Tiger Performance SBA compact second stage (Fig. 10) is a light yet affective device for delivering good control and airflow to the user. It’s simplicity of design ensure rugged reliable performance. Fig. 12 After the Valve Hand wheel on the 1st stage is turned on (Fig. 6), the 320-RG6L 2nd stage is held in the user’s mouth by inserting the mouthpiece shown in Fig 10 above.
  • Page 16: Pre-Use Check

PRE-USE CHECK 1. Before using the Tiger Performance SBA, check to be sure that the black Fill Probe Cap is in place on the Fill Probe (see Fig. 2) Use without this Cap in place can result in water and contaminants being blown into the interior of the cylinder during filling, which in turn will cause future mechanical problems in the regulator and valve.
  • Page 17: Post-Use Care

POST-USE CARE 1. After use, make sure the plastic cap on the Filling Probe is still in place. Periodically check the condition of the external O-ring on the Fill Probe. Ask your technician to install a new O-ring if it looks torn or cut. Neglect of these simple procedures is a major cause of corrosion and wear in regulators.
