Error Messages

In addition to normal indications, the MB-8N display
shows the following error messages.
Message
Warning01 TUNER x
ERROR
("TUNER x" represents a
slot number.)
Warning02 FAN ERROR
Warning03 NET ERROR

Meaning
This message appears if there is a
communications problem between the MB-8N
unit (this unit) and the WRU-8N unit. The
following may be the cause of the problem.
• The WRU-8N unit has failed
• The WRU-8N unit was removed while this unit
was powered on
This message appears if the cooling fan in the
rear panel of this unit fails because of wear to
the moving parts.
This message appears if there is a
communications error on the network between
this unit and the computer.
Remove the pins inside the feet
with a small screwdriver or similar
tool.
What to do
When starting in remote mode:
There is the possibility that the WRU-8N in the
corresponding slot is not recognized by the MB-8N.
Please make sure that a WRU-8N unit is
installed in the slot. If it is installed, put the MB-
8N into local mode, then after about five
seconds put it back into remote mode. Now you
can use the MB-8N.
When starting in local mode:
After the display is automatically restored, you
can use the MB-8N.
If it is not restored, carry out the following
procedure.
• Power this unit off and on again.
• Initialize the WRU-8N unit.
For details, see " Initializing to default settings"
(page 29).
The cooling fan must be replaced. Consult your
Sony service representative.
The display is automatically restored.
Restart the MB-8N Network Controller.
For detailed information on the MB-8N Network
Controller, refer to the User's Guide for MB-8N
Network Controller on the supplied CD-ROM.
