50 Fault Finding
POSSIBLE CAUSE
13. Bad oil cut off
14. Dirt collecting on fan
15. Combustion products leaking
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Boiler frequently tripping on
limit stat
2. Limit stat calibration too low
Boiler stat max temperature
too high
3. Lack of flow through boiler.
4. Condensation from Chimney
5. Noisy Motor
6. Pump pressure oscillating
7. Faulty pump cut off:-
oil in boiler
A Burner Fault Finding Guide is incorporated within the
Burner Information Instructions.
ACTION
Bleed air from pump or replace pump
assembly
Remove burner and clean
Check all joints, replace suspect
seals
ACTION
Replace limit stat
Check outlet temp of boiler and if
necessary replace
If possible try circulating pump on
higher setting (Statesman only)
Could take place in cold weather due
to high efficiency of boiler.
Check system complies with
Standard
Look for signs of oil leaking from
pump, motor and coupling
Air in oil, Dirt in pump regulating
valve
Defective pump coupling
Faulty gauge
Defective Solenoid valve
Air in fuel lines
