Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) compliance
THIS WIRELESS DEVICE MODEL MEETS GOVERNMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR EXPOSURE TO
RADIO WAVES WHEN USED AS DIRECTED IN THIS SECTION
This GPS Navigation System is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed and manufactured
not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) of the U.S. Government, Industry Canada of the Canadian
Government (IC).
The SAR limit recommended by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the U.S.
Government, Industry Canada of the Canadian Government (IC) is 1.6W/kg averaged over 1 gram
of tissue for the body (4.0 W/kg averaged over 10 grams of tissue for the extremities - hands,
wrists, ankles and feet). Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions specified
by FCC/IC with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency
bands.
Exposure limits
This device complies with radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. In
order to avoid the possibility of exceeding the radio frequency exposure limits, human proximity
to the antenna shall not be less than 20cm (8 inches) during normal operation.
