The Mode button is available to activate a second shift pat-
tern. Under normal conditions (Mode Off), the transmission
will shift in a "performance mode." In the "petformance
mode," the transmission shifts are delayed until a higher
engine rpm is attained, which improves overall performance.
By pressing the Mode button, the display will indicate "Mode
On," and the transmission will be in an "economy mode." In
the "economy mode," the transmission shifts sooner allowing
for smoother shifts and improved fuel economy.
A system
Test
button is included on the lever selector. The
capability is included on the push-button selector by using the
correct combination of snap dome switches.
It is not necessary to select the right moment to upshift or
downshift during the changing road and traffic conditions.
The transmission does it for you. However, knowledge of the
gear ranges and when to select them will make vehicle control
and your job even easier.
(R) (Reverse) The vehicle must be completely stopped before
shifting from Forward to Reverse or from Reverse to Forward.
The Select indicator will display R and the Monitor will
display R when Reverse is attained.
eN) (Neutral) Neutral is used to start the engine, check vehicle
accessories, and for extended periods of engine idle operation.
If the engine starts in any other selected gear, the start circuit
should be service immediately. The Select indicator will
display Neutral and the Monitor will display Neutral.
