28 BRAKE PEDAL LUBRICATION

Grease nipple in heel of brake foot pedal. Use grease sparingly.
29 SPEEDOMETER LUBRICATION
One nipple on top of speedometer gear pox attached to rear wheel spindle.

STAND FIXING BOLT LUBRICATION, ETC.
Several of the parts of a motor cycle that have a very small movement, such as the hinge
bolts of the stands, should be lubricated. Occasionally remove those bolts and smear
with engine oil.

STEERING HEAD BEARING LUBRICATION
One nipple on main frame head lug and one on handlebar lug. Use grease sparingly.

FRONT FORK LUBRICATION
No parts of the TELEDRAULIC Front Fork requires lubrication, but it is advisable
to test the level of the hydraulic fluid, and top-up if required, every three thousand miles.
Test level and top-up by:—
(a)
Support motor cycle, vertically, with the weight on both wheels.

Unscrew the two hexagonal plugs at top of fork inner tubes.

Pull upwards each plug at far as possible. (Attached to undersides of plugs are
the fork damper rods. Rods will therefore be exposed).
Work plugs and rods up and down, several times (pumping action), making

upward strokes as violent as possible but only use fingers to do so. (This action
is to eject any hydraulic fluid that may be trapped in the tubes above the damper
valves).
(e)
Wait two minutes. (To allow any ejected oil to drain down to main supply).
Remove oil level screws. These are located on each slider, just under the mud-

guard bridge fixing bolts.
Oil should just ooze from oil level holes if the oil level is correct.
(g)
If no trickle, top-up by pouring down each fork inner tube about two table-
(h)
spoonfuls (one fluid ounce) of Hydraulic Fluid.
Repeat pumping action.

Wait two minutes

Let all excess oil leak away.
If no trickle, repeat as Paras. (h) and (i).
(l)

If still no trickle it is evident leakage has occurred. Investigate and correct same.
Replace oil level screws. (Ensure a fibre washer on each screw).

Replace plug in top of each fork inner tube.
(o)
(Each screw has a fibre washer).
