Turn the handwheel until the point of the hook 2, coming from the right hand side, has reached the
middle of the needle (arrow in fig. 3).

Loosen the needle guard carrier 3 (fig. 2) (screws 4).

Align the height of the needle guard finger 1 so that its top edge is flush with the bottom edge of the
hook point (fig. 1).

Position the needle guard finger 1 parallel to the hook blade and tighten the screws 4.

Bring the hook to its left turning point (handwheel).

Move the needle guard carrier 3 (fig. 2) on its axle in such a way that at the left turning point of the
hook, the needle guard finger 1 does not come into contact with the hook (screw 5).

Bring the hook point to a position behind the middle of the needle; fig. 3 (handwheel).

Turn the needle guard carrier 3 (screw 5) in such a way that there is a clearance of 0.3 - 0.5 mm
between the needle and the needle guard finger (fig. 4).

The top edge of the front needle guard finger 1 (fig. 1) should be at the same
height as the bottom edge of the hook point when the point of the hook 2,
coming from the right hand side, has reached the middle of the needle.
The front needle guard finger 1 must be parallel to the hook blade.
When the hook point is exactly behind the middle of the needle, there should be a
clearance of 0.3 mm - 0.5 mm between the front needle guard finger 1 and the
needle (fig. 4)
