High end power amplifier

The input section of the H2A has two types of audio inputs and outputs: unbalanced audio signal with
RCA plugs (phono plugs) and true balanced audio signal with XLR plugs (pin 2 is positive phase, pin
3 is negative phase and pin 1 is chassis earth). The input switch selects if RCA / phono or XLR input
signals are to be used. The input selector switch should point in the direction of the input selected.
USE & PLACEMENT
The HEGEL H2A should be placed on a flat, hard surface for proper cooling. The amplifier performs
best after being switched on for 1 hour for heating up. Plenty of space is required for air circulation
above, below and around the amplifier. The amplifier must never be placed on a carpet or similar
surface that obstructs air circulation through the component. Nor must it be covered while in use or
placed on a narrow shelf or in another confined space.
Always use the power switch on the front panel of the H2A to switch the amplifier on and off. Never
switch on or off the AC voltage supply to the H2A with an external switch. If an external switch is
used without switching the H2A power knob off, then the mains fuse in the back side of the H2A can
blow. The reason for this is that the internal soft start circuit inside the H2A must be reset by the H2A
power on off switch.
The amplifier will automatically switch itself off if overheated.
The amplifier will need some break-in time before maximum sound quality can be experienced.
CLEANING
The top cover and knobs are made of brushed and anodized aluminum, while the front panel is made
of solid, powder coated aluminum. Fingerprints or stains on the front panel, knobs or top cover can be
removed with a cloth moistened with warm water.
We wish you good luck in setting up and connecting your new amplifier and hope that it will give you
many years of joyful natural sounding music experiences!
