DFC 530 INSTRUCTION MANUAL

1. CONNECTION

Connect the direct current cable clamps to the battery terminals in the
sequence as specified below:
A)
B)
Very important: Make sure that both direct current cable
clamps have proper contact with their respective terminals.

2. CHARGING

Stick the alternating current plug in the electrical outlet (only 230
alternating current). The battery charger will then sound a tone for 0.5
seconds and all of the power supply pilot lamps will light for two
seconds.
Connection with reversed polarity – If the direct current battery
clamps are connected improperly to the battery terminals, the LED will
indicate the reversed polarity. Both the warning LED and the buzzer on
the positive direct current cable clamps will also activate. If this occurs,
just pull the alternating current plug out, connect the direct current cable
clamps on their appropriate terminals and reconnect the alternating
current plug to the power supply.
The battery charger is now in the Stand By operating mode and the
"12V, "GEL" and "ON" LEDs are illuminated. This is the standard
charging mode and as soon as the start button is pressed, the charger
switches immediately into the 12V GEL cell battery charging mode.
If you require an alternative selection, proceed as follows:
1 Step – Press the VOLTAGE selection button to select the right battery
voltage, i.e. 6 V or 12 V.
2 Step – Press the BATTERY – selection button to select the type of
battery to be charged, i.e. "GEL" or "STD". STD indicates a common
lead acid battery or calcium battery.
3 Step – Press the "START" button to begin charging the battery.
Connect the positive conductor (RED) to the positive
battery terminal (indicated by P or +).
Connect the negative conductor (BLACK) to the
negative battery terminal (indicated by N or -).
