Using a À ash (À ash photography)
The À ash can be set manually as required. The À ash can be used for À ash
photography in a variety of shooting conditions.

Attach the À ash unit and raise the À ash
head.
• g "Attaching the À ash unit" (P. 14)
Press the # button (I) to display options.

Use HI to choose a À ash mode and press

Cautions
• In [!/#!(Red-eye reduction À ash)], after the pre-À ashes, it takes about 1 second
before the shutter is released. Do not move the camera until shooting is complete.
• [!/#!(Red-eye reduction À ash)] may not work effectively under some shooting
conditions.
• When the À ash ¿ res, the shutter speed is set to 1/250 sec. or slower. When shooting
a subject against a bright background with the ¿ ll-in À ash, the background may be
overexposed.

backlight conditions.

This function allows you to reduce the red-eye
phenomenon. In S and M modes, the À ash

create trails of light behind
moving light sources.
For users who prefer manual operation. If you
press the INFO button, you can use the dial to
adjust the À ash level.
