i Fuel Selection
Fuel is a key factor in deciding the exhaust emissions ftom the engine, so
sel€ction offuel must follow the rules below.
Selected fuel must be unleaded or lowleaded gasoline with the octane NO.
RQ-90 or higher.

The fuel tank capacity is 12. I L including the reserve supply of 2.6L .
AWARNING
aGasoline is exlremely flammable and is explosive under cerfain conditions.
Refuel in a rvell-ventilated area with the engine stopped. Do not smoke or
allow flames or sparks in the area i,vhere gasoline is stored or where the fuel
tank is refueled.
aBefore refueling, make sure to filter fuel first.
aDo not overfill the tank (there should be no fuel in the filler neck). After
refueling, make sure the fuel filler csp is closed s€curely.
oBe careful not to spill fuel when refueling. Spilled fuel or fuel vrpor may
ignite. If any fuel is spilled, make sure the area is dry before starting the
engine.
OAvoid repeated or prolonged contact with skin or bre|thing o{ vapor. KEEP
OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
With the tuel cock in the RES position, tuel will flow from the reserve tuel
supply to the carburetor. Use the reserve fuel only when the main supply is gone.
R.efill th€ tank as soon as possible after switching to RES.
AWARNING
aTo avoid running out offuel that may result in a sudden stop, learn how to
operate the fuel cock wh€n fiding the motorcycle.
aBe careful not touch any hot engin€ pa s while operating the fuel cock,
NOTE
Remember to check that the fuel cock is in ON position each time you ride.
lfthe cock is left in RES position, you may run out of tuel with no rcsenie.

STARTING THE ENGINE

Always follow the proper starting prccedure described below.
I\WARNING
oNever run the engine in sn enclosed arca. The exhaust contrins poisonous
carbon nonoxide (CO) gas that can cause loss of consciousness and lead to
d€ath.
aAttempting to start the engine with the transmission in gear and the clufch
engaged may result in injury or damage.
Preparation
NOTE
l set the tuel cock to ON.
2.Set the main switch to ON, put the engine stop switch to
'O
(ON).
3.Slip the gearshift into NEUTRAL (neutral indicator light on).
4.Push the choke lever all the way to its fully closed position and close the throttle
grip tully.
5.Start the engine by start button.
NOTE
For protecting the battery, do not use the electric starter for more than 5
seconds at a time. Release the starter button for approximately 10 seconds before
pressing it again.
6.After starting the engine, keep it at a speed of2500 - 3500 r/min by adjusting the
throttle lever.
NOTE
The engine should be wa.med up for prolonging its service life. Don't
forcefully accelemte the engine.
7.Push the choke lever all the way to its open position afterwarming up the engine.
NOTE
As a rule, with the choke in full closed condition, if the engine responds to the
choke, it means that the engine is warmed up.
