1. Switch the radio on
Select PROG-System by pressing the
"PROG" key. "PROGRAM" will appear
briefly on the display followed by
"SAFE". Activate adjustment by press-
ing the "PROG" key again. "1000" will
flash on the display.
2. Key in your code number (from the
Radio Card). See chapter "Activating
codifying".
3. Confirm the code number by briefly
pressing the "PROG" key. "CODE" will
appear in the display. The radio starts
working. I I f f y y o o u u h h a a v v e e g g o o t t t t h h e e w w r r o o n n g g
n n u u m m b b e e r r "SAFE" will remain on the dis-
play, and you will not hear the radio.
Start again from the beginning.
Respect the waiting intervals between
attempts.

v v a a t t e e d d . . When you re-install the radio it will
work immediately. To re-activate protection
you will have to codify it by the procedure
already described.

When working in a car radio, cassettes are
subjected to great thermal stress. Only
use C-60 or C-90 heat resistant cassettes
made by reputable manufacturers.

... cassettes should not be subjected to
high temperatures (see manufacturer's
instructions) and should be stored in their
box after use.

The RDS is an information system whose
signals are broadcast by stations in addi-
tion to almost all their FM radio pro-
grammes.

During RDS programmes the station name
is shown abbreviated in the display. For
example RN1 for channel 1 of Radio
Nacional de España.
Bear in mind that the RDS programmes
may have different regional programmes
and names.

This function allows you to listen to traffic
messages in the FM I, II and III ranges
even when you are tuned in to an RDS pro-
gramme without its own traffic news ser-
vice, assuming that the station broadcast-
ing the RDS programme you are tuned in
to, is also broadcasting another which
has traffic news broadcasts.
