3. Initial start-up

On the following pages, you will be guided step by step through the procedure you need to follow when you first set
up your navigation product.

Assembling the mounting bracket

Enclosed with your F-Series device is a mounting bracket,
consisting of a device shell and a mounting bracket base.
You can use the mounting bracket to attach your device
to the windscreen or the dashboard in your car.
You must first lock your device in place in the shell for the
device. To do this, place the device from above onto the
device shell, so that the recesses on the bottom of the
device marry up with the protuberances on the mounting
bracket for the device. There is a magnet both in the hold-
ing shell and on the back of the device. You should now
press the entire back of the device against the mounting
bracket. When the device is in the correct position, you
will hear it lock in place.
The device can now be connected via the device shell to
the base of the mounting bracket. This is done via the back
of the device mounting bracket, which must be locked into
the square plate of the mounting bracket base.
Note: When you wish to remove the device again from the
device shell, you should grip the holding shell with one hand.
Pull the device up and forwards with your other hand.
Attention: Do not remove the device by pulling it up
vertically.

Attaching the mounting bracket

Locate a flat spot on the windscreen or dashboard where
you can attach the mounting bracket. You should also clean
the appropriate spot. You should not fit the bracket at tem-
peratures of below +15°C.
