Meaning
No water.
Note: There is always a small amount of water left in the water tank 22.
Water tank 22 is missing or
not inserted correctly.
Bean container 15 is empty.
Note: Both symbols flash until coffee is brewed again.
Illuminated ring of the
2 button 5 flashes. Water
pipe system in the appliance is
empty.
System heated up by Steam
on.
Tray 24 and coffee dregs tray
23 are full, or contacts 26
soiled.
Tray 24 and coffee dregs tray
23 are missing.
The illuminated ring on the
+ button 8 is lit red.
The illuminated ring on the
4descaling button 9 is lit
red.
Cover on the duct for ground
coffee 16 is open.
The filter 21 is no longer
effective after 400 brews or

Remedial action
Pour fresh, cold water into the water tank
22.
Insert water tank 22.
Fill bean container 15.
Press 2 button 5.
Allow system to cool down by letting out
some hot water 0.
Remove, empty, and re insert tray 24 and
coffee dregs tray 23.
Clean and dry contacts 26.
Insert tray 24 and coffee dregs tray 23.
Run cleaning programme see page 23.
Run descaling programme see
page 25.
Close the cover on the duct for ground
coffee 16.
Change filter 21 (order no. 46 1732) or
continue operating the appliance without
filter 21. If a new filter is not inserted,
select water hardness see page 21.
