Knee lever stroke limitation

Requirement
When the knee lever is fully pressed, there must be a clearance as indicated below
between presser foot and needle plate, and the presser bar lifter must drop down by its
own weight.
Model A and Subclass -731/..: 7 mm
Model B:

Unscrew screw 1 (nut 2) a few turns.
Raise the presser bar lifter
Place the 7 mm or 9 mm thick part of the feeler gauge under the presser foot and lower
the presser bar lifter.
Making sure that the presser foot does not lift off the feed dog gauge, press the knee
lever fully to the right and hold it there.
Turn screw 1 fully in and then back out by a half turn.
Tighten nut 2.
