BIOS setup security functions
In BIOS Setup you can set the system functions and the hardware configuration of the server. When
the server is delivered, the default entries are valid (see "D1859 Setup Utility for Econel 50" manual
and if necessary technical manual for the D1859 system board). You may customize these settings
to your requirements in the BIOS Setup.
The Security menu in BIOS Setup offers you various options for protecting your personal data against
unauthorized access, e.g.:
Preventing unauthorized BIOS Setup entry
Preventing unauthorized system access
Preventing unauthorized access to the settings of boards with their own BIOS
Preventing system booting from the floppy disk drive
Activating virus warnings
Preventing unauthorized writing of floppy disks
Protecting BIOS from being overwritten
Protecting the server from being switched on by an external device
You can also combine these functions.
You will find a detailed description of the Security menus and how to assign passwords in the
technical manual for the D1859 system board or in the "D1859 Setup Utility for Econel 50" manual.
