MOUNTING OF METAL BLADE OR NYLON CUTTING HEAD
Be sure to use genuine εAKITA metal blades or nylon
cutting head.
The metal blade must be well polished, free of cracks or breakageέ If the metal
blade hits against a stone during operation, stop the engine and check the
blade immediatelyέ
Polish or replace the metal blade every three hours of operationέ
If the nylon cutting head hits against a stone during operation, stop the engine
and check the nylon cutting head immediatelyέ
CAUTIONμ
The appropriate protector must always be installed, for your own safety
and in order to comply with accidentάprevention regulationsέ
τperation of the equipment without the guard being in place is not
permittedέ
The outside diameter of the cutter blade must be γίί mm (1β") or lessέ
σever use any blades exceeding γίί mm (1β") in outside diameterέ Cutter
blades with outside diameter of γίη mm or 1β inches can be used only for
those with βάtooth bladeέ
Turn the straight shaft upside down, and you can replace the metal blade or nylon
cutting head easilyέ
Insert the hex wrench (η) through the hole in the gear case and rotate the
receiver washer (ζ) until it is locked with the hex wrenchέ
δoosen the nut (1) (leftάhand thread) with the socket wrench and remove the
nut (1), cup (β), and clamp washer (γ)έ
εounting of metal blade with the hex wrench still in place
εount the metal blade onto the shaft so that the guide of the receiver washer
(ζ) its in the arbor hole in the metal bladeέ Install the clamp washer (γ), cup (β),
and secure the metal blade with the nut (1)έ
[Tightening torqueμ βί – γί σ•m]
NOTEμ
Always wear gloves when handling the metal bladeέ
NOTEμ
The metal bladeάfastening nut (with spring washer) is a consumable partέ
If there appears any wear or deformation on the spring washer, replace
the nutέ
εounting of nylon cutting head
The clamp washer (γ), cup (β), and nut (1) are not necessary for mounting the
nylon cutting headέ The nylon cutting head should go on top of the receiver
washer (ζ)έ
Insert the hex wrench (η) through the hole in the gear case and rotate the
receiver washer (ζ) until it is locked with the hex wrenchέ
Then screw the nylon cutting head onto the shaft by turning it counterclockwiseέ
Remove the hex wrenchέ
