pRESSURE TESTING FIREpLACE GAS
CONNECTIONS
1. Open equipment shutoff valve (see Figure
23, page 17).
2. Open propane/LP supply tank valve for
propane/LP fireplace or main gas valve
located on or near gas meter for natural
gas fireplace.
3. Make sure control knob of fireplace is in
the OFF position.
4. Check all joints from equipment shutoff
valve to gas valve (see Figure 24 or Figure
25). Apply noncorrosive leak detection
fluid to all joints. Bubbles forming show a
leak. Correct all leaks at once.
5. Light fireplace (see Operation, page 21).
Check all other internal joints for leaks.
6. Turn off fireplace (see To Turn Off Gas to
Appliance, page 22).

REMOVING/REPLACING GLASS
DOORS
CAUTION: Do not operate
this fireplace with a broken glass
door panel or without the glass
door panel securely in place.
For replacement part informa-
tion see Replacement Parts,
page 34.
CAUTION: Wear gloves and
safety glasses while handling
or removing broken glass. Do
not remove if glass is hot. Keep
children and pets away from
glass.
WARNING: If fireplace has
been running, turn off fireplace.
Let cool before removing glass
doors.
WARNING: More than one
person is required when replac-
ing glass.
Models IDVF-36S and IDVF-36H have
only a single glass door to be removed or
replaced.
Removing and Installing Glass Door (All
Models)
1. Remove screws from two side trims (see
Figure 26, page 19).
3. Remove side bricks from top to bottom
(see Figure 26, page 19).
4. Remove bottom bricks, starting with
middle section (see Figure 26, page 19).
5. While holding glass door, release 6
latches, 3 top and 3 bottom (see Figure
27, page 19).
6. Slowly tilt open glass at a 30° angle and lift
up to release glass from bottom retainer
(see Figure 27, page 19).
7. Follow these instructions in reverse to
reinstall.
