• Replace the M.2 solid-state drive only if you upgrade it or have it repaired. The connector and slot of the
M.2 solid-state drive are not designed for frequent changes or replacement.
• Do not drop the M.2 solid-state drive or subject it to physical shocks. Put the M.2 solid-state drive on a
material, such as soft cloth, that absorbs any physical shocks.
• Do not touch the connector.
• Before removing the M.2 solid-state drive, make a backup copy of all the information on it, and then
turn off the computer.
• Never remove the M.2 solid-state drive while the computer is operating, in sleep mode, or in hibernation
mode.
To replace the M.2 solid-state drive, do the following:
1. Turn off your computer and disconnect the ac power adapter and all cables from the computer.
2. Disable the built-in battery. See "Disabling the built-in battery" on page 119.
3. Close the computer display, and turn the computer over.
4. Remove the base cover. See "Replacing the base cover" on page 120.
5. Remove the screw that secures the M.2 solid-state drive.
6. Remove the M.2 solid-state drive.
