1. Steering friction adjuster
To increase resistance, turn the steering fric-
tion adjuster clockwise.
To decrease resistance, turn the steering fric-
tion adjuster counterclockwise.

Trim rod (tilt pin)

The trim rod (tilt pin) is used to adjust the trim
angle of the outboard motor in relation to the
angle of the boat transom.

Tilt lock mechanism (F4B, F5A, F6C)

The tilt lock mechanism is used to prevent the
outboard motor from lifting out of the water
when the gear shift lever is in the reverse po-
sition.
When the gear shift lever is moved to the re-
verse position, the tilt lock mechanism oper-
ates to prevent the outboard motor from being
tilted up.
