Muting the Keypad Tones

The radio's keypad tones, normally heard each time
a keypad key is pressed, can be turned off (muted) or
on (unmuted) at your discretion. To use the keypad
mute feature:
1.
Press the right arrow key (
appears on the display.
2.
Press the key below "MUTE." The current mute
state ("TONES ON" = keypad tones unmuted;
"TONES OFF" = keypad tones muted) appears on
the display for a few seconds.
Then, the display shows the additional selections,
"ON" and "OFF."
3.
Press the key below the desired mute state (on or
off). The radio automatically returns to the home
display.
Note: Pressing the HOME key or the PTT switch
will exit this menu without changing the mute
selection
) until "MUTE"
