WARNING: This is an unvented gas-fired heater. It uses air (oxygen)
from the room in which it is installed. Provisions for adequate
combustion and ventilation air must be provided. Refer to "Air for
Combustion and Ventilation" section in this manual.

Read the following instructions to insure proper fresh air for this VENTILATION and other fuel-burning appliances in your home. Today’s homes are built more energy efficient than ever.

Space: Includes the room in which you will install fireplace plus any adjoining rooms with doorless passageways or ventilation grills between the rooms.

When ventilating to an adjoining unconfined space, you must provide two permanent openings: one within 12" of the ceiling and one within 12" of the floor on the wall connecting the two spaces (see VENTILATION options 1 and 2, Figure 3).

    INSPECTING Check pilot flame pattern and burner flame patterns often. PILOT FLAME PATTERN BURNERS Figure 26 shows a correct pilot flame pattern. Figure 27 shows an incorrect pilot flame pattern. The incorrect pilot flame is not touching the thermocouple. This will cause the thermocouple to cool.
