Why is my Makita DBN500 nail gun not firing?
Your Makita DBN500 nail gun may not be firing for several reasons:
- The tool may be overheated. If so, the tool stops automatically and the indicator blinks for about 60 seconds. Let the tool cool before turning it on again.
- The battery may be overheated. The tool stops automatically, and the battery indicator lights up for about 60 seconds. The tool will not start even if the trigger is pulled. Let the battery cool before turning the tool on again.
- The battery capacity may be low. The indicator blinks, and the tool stops. Charge the battery cartridge.
- The anti dry fire mechanism has activated because the remaining nails have finished. Load more nails to resume operation.
- The battery power residual is small, even if the lamp lights up, the nailer may not fire nails. Charge the battery cartridge.
- The trigger lock is engaged. The trigger lock makes the trigger unmovable and prevents the tool from firing. Set the lock button to the "FREE" position.
- The battery cartridge is not fully installed. If the red indicator on the upper side of the button is visible, the battery is not locked completely. Install the battery cartridge fully until the red indicator cannot be seen.
- There are issues with the trigger function, such as the switch trigger not actuating properly or not returning to the "OFF" position, or if the tool operates only by pulling the trigger or only by placing the contact element against the workpiece. In this case, contact Makita Authorized Service Centers for repairs.
