Decalcification

For best performance of the
coffeemaker it will be necessary to
decalcify the unit from time to time. The
frequency depends upon the hardness
of the tap water and how often the
appliance is used.

The appliance will display "Descale"
when it needs to be cleaned.
(See Fig. 9)

The appliance will continue to operate for a period of time however
the coffee/water temperature and dispense volumes may not be
correct and may even be cold!

To decalcify the appliance, fill the tank with 32oz of white vinegar
and press both the coffee strength & keep warm select buttons at
the same time and hold for two seconds.

The appliance will automatically de-scale and reset itself, this will
take around 40 minutes.

During decalcification "Descale" will flash on the display and the
START/STOP button will be back lit red.

At the end of decalcification process the appliance will beep twice to
indicate that it has completed.

After decalcification it is necessary to rinse the appliance twice,
this is achieved by running the appliance twice in full carafe mode
without coffee in the basket.

Altitude Set

As water boils at different temperatures dependent on altitude it is
necessary to compensate for this to prevent excess steam during the
brew process.

To set the altitude for locations 4,000 ft. above sea level or higher
plug the coffeemaker into the outlet. Depress the Strength and clock/
delay brew buttons simultaneously while the coffeemaker is in Off
mode (LCD off). Set your actual altitude according to the chart below.

The coffee strength indicator bars are used to display the altitude.

To store the setting press the START/STOP button.
