TROUBLE SHOOTING

PROBLEM
Engine will not turn over.
Engine smokes.
Engine runs then stops.
Engine will not start.
Engine runs rough.
Cutterblade drive will not
engage / disengage.

POSSIBLE FAULT
Incorrect oil level.
Excess oil level.
Air cleaner cartridge oil
soaked or plugged.
Fuel starvation.
Fuel cap vent blocked.
Fuel starvation.
Incorrect / contaminated fuel.
Spark plug lead disconnected.
Engine cold.
Faulty spark plug.
Spark plug lead becoming
disconnected in use.
Faulty spark plug.
Air cleaner cartidge blocked.
Incorrect / contaminated fuel.
Faulty blade brake clutch.
REMEDY
Check oil level.
Check oil level.
Service air cleaner.
Fill fuel tank.
Clean fuel cap vent.
Fill fuel tank.
Drain fuel tank and fill with
correct fuel.
Connect spark plug lead.
Set throttle to choke position.
Clean and adjust gap or replace.
Connect spark plug lead.
Clean and adjust gap or replace.
Replace air cleaner cartidge.
Drain fuel tank and fill with
correct fuel.
Consult your dealer.
