    The MACHINE ID determines the position of a VS-81HDxl unit, specifying which VS-81HDxl unit is being controlled when several VS-81HDxl units connect to a PC or serial controller. Set the Machine number on a VS-81HDxl unit via MACHINE ID DIPs 1, 2, 3 and 4, according to the following table.

This type of connection is recommended for identifying the VS-81HDxl with the factory configured default IP address.

    Locking the Front Panel To prevent changing the settings accidentally or tampering with the unit via the front panel buttons, lock your VS-81HDxl. Unlocking releases the protection mechanism. Nevertheless, even though the front panel is locked you can still operate via RS-232 or RS-485, as well as via the Kramer IR Remote Control Transmitter.
