Thank you for choosing the P6VEMD mainboard. This mainboard features the
latest VIA CLE266: VT8623 Northbridge & VT8235 Southbridge chipsets. It is
innovatively designed to enable the real world performance in key applications
like video streaming or DVD playback that equals that of the most powerful
PC systems in production today.
The VIA CLE266 includes MPEG-2 decoding and video scaling for high quality
DVD acceleration and an integrated 128-bit 2D and 128-bit 3D graphics en-
gine with internal AGP 8X and Alpha Blending for multimedia and gaming
applications. While the VT8235 Southbridge connects through a 4X V-Link
connection to the Northbridge transferring data at 266MB/s which is double
the speed of the convention PCI bus. Based on the chipsets, the P6VEMD
mainboard can support 6 USB 2.0 ports that is 40 times more bandwidth that
USB 1.1, as well as ATA 133 (the fastest available IDE interface). Additional
features include integrated VIA MAC for 10/100Mbps Ethernet, integrated PCI
support, 6 channels Surround AC 97 audio interface and MC 97 modem.
The P6VEMD supports a PGA370 processor socket which allows complete
flexibility. It is a micro-ATX board measuring 220 x 240 mm and using 4-layer
printed circuit board.
